HTM
Holy Trinity Monastery
Holy Trinity Monastery is a Greek Orthodox men's monastery one hour north of Detroit.
On our peaceful 100+ acre property we raise chickens, dairy goats, sheep and Colorado Mountain Dogs.
Our Dogs
When we realized our predator pressure was such that we would need an effective guardian, we considered all of the options. We were disappointed with some of the drawbacks to alternative livestock guardians and were not completely sold on the idea of other LGD breeds due to our proximity to our neighbors and the frequent visitors that ofter want to see our animals. After learning by chance about the Colorado Mountain Dog breed we found the solution to our dilemma. We were so happy with our experience with the breed and convinced it will be the solution many homesteaders and small farms don't yet know they need, we decided to breed our G4 pair so that others can experience the same relief we have. With that as our goal we are pleased to introduce CMDR litter #HTM024LIT1CMD
Our Female, Bailey of HTM
Bailey is our G4 female. She is a sweet, tender hearted girl while being a very alert and an ever-ready protectress. She is very discerning. It always amazes me how she knows seagulls, geese and other birds are not threats but hawks or eagles are! I have seen her in action many times and sleep soundly knowing she is with our herd.
Our Male, Max of HTM
Max is our G4 male. He is a handsome, gentle giant. While Bailey is probably a personal favorite, Max is the most popular due to his easy going, wonderfully friendly disposition combined with his impressive size. He has learned his job very well from his older pack members. He uses his deep, powerful bark with discernment and has grown in to his role impressively. All of our dogs respect their fences, love our stock and behave well with our many visitors

Our Farm Projects
Our CMDs guard our LaMancha and Experimental dairy goats as well as our Kathadin sheep. We will also be using them more with our laying flock after completing our new runs and mobile system. We use our dairy goats for all of our dairy needs as well as producing goat's milk soap. The sheep raise their lambs on a completely grass based management system.
