Available Adult CMDR Colorado Mountain Dogs

Some breeders offer fully trained adults CMD guardians, some people have life changes and need to rehome adult dogs, and some people have dogs that don’t fit in their situations, but who may flourish in another setting. Posts should specify these details. An experienced guardian has value, and placing a healthy price on your dog helps ensure his next home will value and be able to care for him or her. Posts are $25, last 3 months, and can be purchased in our store. Then email a quality photo, descriptions, and your contact info to: coloradomountaindogs@gmail.com

SOLD — Posted Dec 14, 2025 — Colorado — Meet FDM Bowser of STHH, a G5 CMDR Colorado Mountain Dog. - Born March, 2024

Bowser is an absolute dream of a dog. He has never met a person he didn’t love and greets everyone—children and adults alike—with a wagging tail and a happy smile. He is equally kind and respectful with other animals, making him a true gentle giant.

Bowser works full-time with goats and takes his job seriously, but he also enjoys human companionship and happily accepts a few snuggles whenever they’re offered. Standing approximately 31 inches tall and weighing around 120 pounds, he is tall, lean, and well-built.

He is fence-respecting, stays close to home when turned out, and only barks when there is a legitimate threat. Bowser has a naturally calm, steady temperament and is very much a “bottom-of-the-pack” kind of guy. He will thrive in a home with another dog, as he looks to canine companions for guidance and tends to mirror their behavior.

Bowser has excellent DNA results, excellent hip radiographs, and is up to date on all vaccinations. He is scheduled to be neutered before he travels to his new home. $2500

ABF Sampson DOB: 10/9/2023 (neutered male) and ABF Delilah DOB 10/9-2023 (spayed female) were bred here at Abundairy Farm. They were sent to a fabulous family at a young age and brought up in the traditional Colorado Mountain Dog fashion with lots of animals (goats, cows, horses, llamas), tons of love, children and visitors on a small property in Colorado. Their beloved family had to sell their farm and make a huge lifestyle change for family reasons. Sampson and Delilah came back home, here, to help ease the burden of such a rapid transition. These dogs are two years old now. Parents hip and health tested. Sampson and Delilah are nothing short of amazing! Both are SERIOUS guardians and take their job to heart. They alert to arial and land threats/predators and will EAGERLY remove whatever they see as a predator or threat to their charges. They have been back in with goats here (haven’t had the chance to see them with newborn animals so that is an unknown to me-thus recommended for an advanced LGD owner due to the unknown) and would thrive with stock. Not appropriate for free ranging poultry. These are not the pet/house dog side of our breed and not my typical carpet dogs that so often come from my program. Sampson and Delilah have a hard core side that will save a producer time, stock and money. These two are a bonded pair looking to go into a high predator load area with tons of room to patrol and protect. They are free thinking and happy to be independent. Delilah is the Alpha and takes that role seriously. She keeps delightful order to Sampson and to younger dogs. She is no nonsense and has no trouble showing her authority if needed. Must go as a team. They have lived their whole lives together and are quite bonded. Best for a very large Ranch where them barking as cars passing by and patrolling perceived perimeters won’t be an issue. Cats can be perceived as a threat to their charges and can be immediately eliminated, but they see foxes, coyotes and low flying hawks the same way. Excellent deterrent dogs but even better if the threat is real. Both are happy-go-lucky, friendly, leash trained and happy for car rides. Again, these are NOT small acreage/town dogs. They would be best for an experienced LGD person on a big Ranch with stock who needs them to do a hard core job. I have found them to be flawless here with mentorship and clear expectations. Photo her taken while they were inside one of my pens to evaluate if they would challenge the fencing. They do not challenge or try to dig out here.
