Wendy Francisco - Crack O Noon LLC, Livermore, CO. Wendy is an artist/author and singer songwriter. She and her husband Don live on 35 acres in Northern Colorado, and Wendy raises 100% New Zealand Kiko Goats, along with mini donkeys and various poultry. Wendy founded the Colorado Mountain Dog in 2008. Also pictured here is Caspian, the dog who inspired the breed and is the founding stud.
Cat Spydell - Cat Spydell is an author, editor, and publisher with Mischievous Muse Publishing Arts Alliance who received her MA at California State University, Long Beach. She is a public speaker on environmental issues and stays involved in her community, having served as HOA president and secretary, running for city council, and as a lead on Next Door. Cat runs a private animal rescue in Palos Verdes, CA called Pixie Dust Ranch, where she is the sole handler for Rad the Peacock, an education bird she brings to schools and Boys and Girls’ Clubs to bring awareness about local wildlife. This is also Drinian, her beloved CMD.
DR. Katie Portacci Quatrano - Tilted W Ranch, Fort Collins, Colorado Katie is a veterinary epidemiologist with a background in public health. Along with her husband and two kids, Katie raises Nigerian Dwarf goats and an assortment of poultry. Her CMD Belle keeps watch of the ranch.
Kimberlee Berlin - Flower Lion Farms, Fort Collins CO Kimberlee and her family owns Flower Lion Farm, north of Fort Collins, Colorado. Here she offers youth day camps that give kids the opportunity to participate in active farm life- milking goats, collecting eggs, horseback riding, and other activities. She also breeds show-quality ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats. They also offer raw goat milk shares and sell organic eggs. Flower Lion Farm is guarded by their four amazing Colorado Mountain Dogs.
Jen Pace Anderson - Balto Farms, Boulder, CO Jen has degrees and Physical Therapy and Biology with a genetics background and owns Balto Farm, with her husband, four kids and parents. They raise Alpacas, Babydoll Sheep, King Shepherds, and Colorado Mountain Dogs. Balto Farms offers organic eggs from over 150 chickens and ducks, yarn and wool products, and a lavender and flower farm. Last year Jen bought a second farm and will host weddings, events and vacation rentals.
Christina Picker - Sweet Lime Sky Farm, Nunn, CO Christina freelances as a Graphic Designer and is working towards her degree in art. She is a wife, and mother of 4 boys, ages 10, 12, 15 and 18. She and her husband homestead, and own a raw milk dairy. Christy is also an avid Gardner and loves to make things grow. She is pictured here with Nani, one of her Colorado Mountain Dogs.
Kristin Robertson - Painted Canvas Farms, Lamar, Missouri Kristin is a family nurse practitioner. She and her husband own and operate Painted Canvas Farm several miles outside of Lamar. They have two sons ages 20 and 15. Kristin and family have bred and raised AKC registered working Australian Cattle Dogs for over twelve years. PCF is also home to a growing herd of Kiko goats. Chuck Norris, CMD stud, joined the clan in 2015 to act as guardian and protector of the goats, pigs, chickens, horses, cattle and ACDs. Three females have since joined him. When not practicing medicine, Kristin enjoys gardening, canning, making goat milk soap and many other homesteading ventures.
Dr. Susan Amiee Ornitz, Ward, CO. Susan is a small animal veterinarian in Lyons and Nederland, CO. She and her husband and 6 year old stepson have 7 dogs, 4 cats, Nigerian dwarf goats and chickens. Her two CMDs protect their goats and chickens half time, and hike/ski/house dog it the other half. This is Susan with Ella and Tesla.
Kathleen Baca, Stone Table Ranch LLC, CO Kathleen is from the suburbs of Chicago and has a BS in Biology. After living in Colorado Springs for six years her family moved to the eastern plains and started Stone Table Ranch. With her six kids and husband they raise miniature dairy goats, chickens, turkeys, and now CMD's. In her free time she likes to make cheese, tend to flower gardens, hang with the animals, rearrange everything, and sew. This is also the famous Petey.
Tracy Wray - The Ranch at Wray Family Farm, Hartsel, CO. Tracy grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, but was always a country girl at heart. In October of 2018, she and her husband moved from their longtime home in Charleston, SC, to a 40 acre ranch in the heart of the Rockies. Tracy owns small businesses in both South Carolina and Colorado, but her passion is working with her animals. On her ranch, she raises Nubian dairy goats, Dexter cattle, Huacaya alpacas, heritage breed poultry, and Colorado Mountain Dogs. She is currently studying Agricultural and Animal Sciences at Colorado State University, and has a special interest in genetics and breeding practices.
